
We sailed back to the mainland and called into a few places on the way up the coast. One of these was a small island called Ko Phra Thong. We saw a resort to the right and could see a couple of beach shacks on the beach so we thought we would just drop anchor, walk down the beach and see if we could grab something to eat. We set out on the road to Mandalay early in the morning and travelled for 8 hours with a couple of food stops. We were offered tea, coffee and bats… fried and wrapped in paper. No thanks.
We wanted to sail to Myanmar but it worked out to be seriously expensive, so we looked into flying there instead, so for $47 we decided it was a much better option. In fact the visas to get there were more expensive @ $50!
We arrived into Langkawi early in the afternoon and went straight to our pre-booked pen in the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club. The club is in the centre of Langkawi so we were able to just walk to the check in offices and get our cruising permit for Langkawi.
